Nordic Maritime began in 2014 from a deep passion for the sea, starting as a blog called Life Behind the Seven Seas. Today, it has grown into the heart of Estonian maritime – a digital platform connecting knowledge, opportunities, and people. Our mission is to bring maritime closer to everyone: students, professionals, and enthusiasts. We believe maritime is more than a job – it’s a lifestyle, a culture, and a community. That’s why we create a space to share inspiration, support career journeys, and keep the spirit of maritime connection alive – on land and at sea.

Our mission is to simplify and enrich maritime-related communication and knowledge-sharing. Every member, regardless of experience, will find guidance and direction on their journey. Company History
The Story of Nordic Maritime – Since 2014
Nordic Maritime began in 2014 as a small, passionate blog, founded by someone raised in a seafaring family. The founder’s father – a respected international mechanic – served as a role model and inspiration. Childhood in Kopli, right by the sea, fostered a deep connection to Estonian maritime traditions and a growing understanding of both the beauty and challenges of the marine world. Growing up in a maritime household and sharing everyday life with friends and family who also worked at sea, the founder quickly understood the field’s struggles: fragmented information, limited access to opportunities, and lack of support. From this awareness came the desire to create something better – a platform that connects, supports, and develops. Today, Nordic Maritime is much more than a blog – it’s a growing community and a guide that brings together hundreds of people who want to achieve something meaningful in the maritime field. And we’re just getting started.
